At the Heart of Care

Dear Friends and Families,

Did you know that 1 in every 4 deaths are attributed to heart disease?  According to the Centers for Disease Control, heart disease is the leading cause of death in women.  Men are also at risk, factoring in one half of deaths due to heart disease.  Since February has been named American Heart Month by the American Heart Association, SYNERGY HomeCare would like to contribute to the awareness and prevention of heart disease.

The heart is an important organ- perhaps the most important in the human body.  Without a healthy heart, our bodies cannot distribute nourishment and oxygen.  Heart disease is painful, scary, and (for many people), a part of daily life.  Here’s the good news: heart health is something that people of every age can pursue.

Paying attention to your heart health contributes to your overall health and prevents heart attacks and strokes.  Please feel free to refer to our blog, Facebook and Twitter pages for advice and tips on caring for your heart.  We also encourage you to seek medical help if you feel the symptoms of a heart attack (found below in our featured video “Just a Little Heart Attack”) or stroke.  The CDC reports that of the 92% of people who recognize heart attack symptoms, only a small percent respond.  If you feel that your heart health is in danger, please consult a medical professional.

If you feel you or someone you love are at risk of having a heart attack or a stroke, or if you are recovering from a recent attack and would like the comfort of a healthcare professional, please consider consulting SYNERGY HomeCare about our customized care plans.  Our caregivers can recognize heart attack and stroke symptoms and call for any medical assistance.  Caregivers can also help you or your loved one to be more active and health conscious.  We look forward to helping you and your family be heart health savvy in February.

Sincerely,

Peter Tourian
