Eating More Fish May Help Seniors Live Longer
Fish have long been recognized as one of the healthiest foods for seniors thanks in large part to the presence of omega-3 fatty acids, and now new research from the Harvard School of Public Health sheds light on just how true that is. Scientists discovered that adults 65 and older who had more fish such as salmon and albacore tuna in their diet increased their lifespan by an average of 2.2 years. Continue reading
Positive Outlook on Aging Tied Better Health
A lot of factors go into healthy aging, but a new study suggests that some of the most important may be related to how seniors feel about getting older. Research out of Yale found that older adults who subscribe to negative stereotypes of aging are more likely to suffer from physical disability and cognitive issues than those who have a positive outlook, according to The New York Times.
