Feeling the Holiday Spirit

Couple Throwing Snowballs Feeling The Holiday Spirit

We are in the middle of a busy season. Between Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas and the New Year, the "most wonderful time of the year" can whiz by in a blur. It's not uncommon for this hurried holiday season to have a negative emotional impact on you or your clients. Don't let stress, depression or even cold weather get the better of you. Here are some ways to take advantage of the holidays.

Send Positive Messages

Tell your friends, family and clients how much they mean to you. It doesn't matter if you tell them in person, in a card, or with a text message. Messages of love make the recipient happy, and they also make you feel good.

Giving with the Heart

With advertisements screaming at you all winter long, it is hard to not want to buy expensive presents for everyone on your list. If your budget is tight or your list is too long, focus your energy on getting or making gifts that come from the heart.

Set Realistic Expectations

It's easy to get caught up in having a perfect holiday. When what you envision and what actually happens don't match, you can become discouraged. Keep in mind that it's okay if everything isn't what you expected. Also, don't commit to things you may not have time for.

Spend time with People

One of the most common causes of depression during the holidays is isolation. When you or your clients live far from family, or can't travel to visit them, don't spend the holidays alone.
