We at SYNERGY HomeCare Corona had a BLAST supporting the Alzheimer’s Association last weekend! On Saturday, Oct. 12, the Alzheimer’s Association hosted the 2013 Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park in Ontario to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
Our own President Ken Kuck helped raise more than $3,100, making him the fifth top contributing participant in our local Ontario Walk. Way to go Ken! Synergy team members raised an impressive $3,300, making SYNERGY HomeCare Corona the Walk’s fourth top contributing company. SYNERGY HomeCare Corona is on fire!
So far, event supporters have helped raise more than $156,000, 65 percent short of the Walk’s $240,000 goal. More than 1,200 people and 148 teams attended the event – what a turnout!
If you were unable to attend the event, no worries! You can still make a donation to a local Alzheimer’s walker or team! We at SYNERGY HomeCare Corona thank all of the event team members, donors, organizers and sponsors who made the Walk a HUGE success. Great job everyone!

Information about Alzheimer’s Disease
The goal of the Alzheimer’s Association is to “eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.”
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, more than 5 million Americans live with Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s “is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States and the only cause of death among the top 10 in the United States that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed.” In 2012, more than 15 million caregivers provided more than 17 billion hours of unpaid Alzheimer’s and dementia care. One in three seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
