On Thursday, Sept. 12, families, friends, and colleagues of SYNERGY HomeCare of Inland Empire flooded Miguel’s vibrant cantina to enjoy hearty Mexican cuisine and great company to support the Alzheimer’s Association.
More than 200 people attended the event and helped raise more than $4,000 to support Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Synergy HomeCare values all who contributed to the event’s success!
SYNERGY HomeCare greatly appreciates the attendance of special guest Sergio Calderon of the Alzheimer’s Association, who spoke about the impact of volunteerism and donation support. Special thanks also goes out to Jake, community activities director for Emeritus Crowne Pointe, for hosting as a fabulous emcee!

Information about Alzheimer’s Disease
The goal of the Alzheimer’s Association is to “eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.”
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, more than 5 million Americans live with Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s “is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States and the only cause of death among the top 10 in the United States that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed.” In 2012, more than 15 million caregivers provided more than 17 billion hours of unpaid Alzheimer’s and dementia care. One in three seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
