What you should know about our CARE Team

Six steps to excellent, personalized care
by your CARE Team

Our caregivers
At SYNERGY HomeCare, our caregivers are the foundation of our company. They are highly experienced and adept in providing care to seniors, children and those recovering from injury and illness.

How do we hire such compassionate and reliable caregivers?

Step one
We hope you can keep a secret!
Our secret weapon is that our caregivers are W-2 employees, not 1099 Independent Contractors, as most agencies hire, and are fully insured by SYNERGY HomeCare. We know that investing in our caregivers and making them a key part of our agency will ensure their commitment to us and to you.

We follow a thorough, disciplined and systematic approach to evaluate each caregiver applicant. Our hiring process ensures that we are confident an individual is fully qualified to enter your home and provide home care services as a SYNERGY HomeCare caregiver.

"It typically takes 10-15 applicants to find a new caregiver who matches our values and our passion to help others."

We take time to ensure the caregiver we send to your home is one we would be comfortable sending to our Gram's home.

Step two
Pre-hire qualifications

    • National Criminal, OIG Exception List, DORA and Incremental CBI background check for all applicants
    • Professional reference checks on all applicants
    • Drug-testing program
    • Caregivers must maintain current CPR and First Aid certification
    • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Caregivers must be fluent in English, both verbal and written

Step three
Our expectations include caregiver professional development and accountability

    • Many caregivers have completed higher levels of training such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP)
    • Caregivers must complete annual training on infectious disease prevention
    • Caregivers must complete eight (8) hours of caregiver training prior to attending an orientation where they must complete personal care skills training and evaluation
    • Caregivers have unlimited access to specific online training modules that cover all subjects related to home care services
    • Ongoing training to fortify caregivers’ skills and develop new ones including Alzheimer’s and dementia care training
    • Regular caregiver performance assessments to ensure the highest quality of care is provided

Step four
Match caregivers to clients
Families often tell us that finding the right caregiver for their loved is paramount.  We also hear that SYNERGY HomeCare made the matching process much easier than they ever imagined. That's because we understand the importance of finding the right caregiver for you—the one who has the skills to meet your needs, the personality to create an emotional connection with you or your aging parent and the experience to provide excellent care.

Step five
Free care consultation
During our free CARE Consultation, we will also learn more about your unique personality and living situation.  Together, we will develop a customized care plan that addresses each need and goal within your established budget. You will  have the opportunity to evaluate your assigned caregiver(s) on the job and may request a different caregiver at any time, for any reason.

Step six
What it means to have a CARE (Coordinated and Responsive Engagement) Team
• Regular communication with you and your family about your loved one.
• Facilitate the coordination between healthcare providers and family members to ensure your loved one is receiving the right level of care.
• Strive to provide the same caregiver for each visit but,
• Always available to discuss your care plan and make adjustments as needed!

These six steps ensure you will have a professional caregiver who is passionate, committed and dependable. If you're shopping for a non-medical in-home caregiver, please give us a call first. You'll be glad you did.

We look forward to your questions
Our success speaks for us. We are proud of our reputation. Having a career, or as we say, ‘passion,’ where we help make others’ lives better through our compassionate home care is why we are happily engaged in our calling of in-home care.
