10 Questions to Ask Any Prospective Home Care Agency



If you are looking for a non-medical home care provider it can be a challenge to select the proper fit for you and your loved one.  To follow is a list of 10 questions to ask any home care company in order to find the proper agency for your family member.

What age group/groups do you service?

At SYNERGY HomeCare of Denver we can address any home care need and provide care for any age of client.  We do service senior citizens but we also work with respite care, clients dealing with sports injuries, workman's compensation injuries, children with long-term illnesses or disabilities, pregnancies and post-partum care, and many other situations.

Are your caregivers screened?

Each and every one of our caregivers has gone through an extensive interview process, state and federal background check, and reference interviews to ensure that they are a proper fit for our caregiving team.  This helps to ensure your family member's and your safety.  We place a high degree of emphasis on prior excellence of service and require a parallel course in skill enhancements to be taken on an ongoing basis.  Caregiver's unemployment insurance, worker's compensation and taxes are all taken care of by our company, not you or your family. 

Is there a contract I have to sign for a minimum length of time?

No.  You sign an agreement, not a contract. You can cancel services at anytime.

What is the cost of homecare services?

All of our rates are customized to fit your specific requirements.  You pay only for what is needed.  Each person is different and has a different assessment.

What do I do if my caregiver does not show up for their shift?

All caregivers are trained on the importance of showing up for an assigned shift on time.  In an emergency situation if the assigned caregiver cannot show up then we will work immediately to find another caregiver to work the shift and keep you informed of our progress.

Would there be a refund if there is payment for services that were never used?

You are only obligated for the services you have received so if there is a balance on the books those monies would be refunded to you.

Is the owner of SYNERGY HomeCare of Denver involved in operations daily?

Betsi Brimer, as the owner, is consistently in the office or out in the field assuring that our clients are receiving quality care.

If I am not satisfied with my current caregiver can I get a different person?

Certainly.  We want the caregiver provided to be a comfortable fit for you and your family member.  We make every effort to get it right the first time but if adjustments are needed we will ensure that the right caregiver is chosen.

Is it possible to speak to someone who uses your services?

We respect the confidentiality of our clients.  However, we can make numerous testimonials available to you if desired.
