This blog is dedicated to all families, friends and caregivers impacted by Alzheimer's disease. At SYNERGY HomeCare of West Denver, we understand the many facets of the illness and we make it our goal to consistently support those personally dealing with the disease as a Client, Caregiver or Loved One. I often meet with families who are so focused on and concerned about increasing memory loss in a loved one that they fail to see how they themselves are being affected.
That is why we offer access to our online Alzheimer’s curriculum. Not only are we then preparing our caregivers to provide the best care possible for our dementia clients, but we are also arming the family with the tools and knowledge to better cope and deal with the heartache and stress that comes along with realizing that the loved one is not the person they used to know.
We are proud to note that we are recognized as "Leaders in Dementia Care through the Alzheimer's Association. This nationally recognized program highlights our organization's commitment to training staff to better care for those affected by Alzheimer's disease.
As the daughter of an Alzheimer’s afflicted parent, I am proud of the fact that our caregivers commit to extra hours of training annually to better understand this disease. I have personally experienced the phases of Alzheimer’s with my own mom and know that knowledge is the best way to feel as if I can still make a difference in my mom’s care and quality of life by the way I approach her everyday behaviors.
Do you or someone you know suspect a loved one might be struggling with serious memory loss? If any of the below symptoms ring a bell, please seek professional help to identify a proper diagnosis and discuss all treatment options as early as possible. Then, access as much information as you can about the phases of Alzheimer’s and how you can be supportive.
