• Create a routine. You likely had a bedtime routine with your children when they were young. While many people think of this as something for children, it is actually effective for everyone. Establishing a routine helps to create a conditioned response that relaxes your mind and encourages you to fall asleep more easily and stay asleep longer. This routine can include taking a shower, changing into pajamas, having a snack, brushing teeth, and spending some time reading before going to bed.
