40 th Anniversary for American Heart Month - February 2013
Once again, February is American Heart Month as we all try to bring awareness to the fact that Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. Over 600,000 men and women, young and old die from heart disease each year. More than 700,000 Americans will have heart attacks this year.
The sad part is that much of it is preventable. Love your heart! Treat it right. Exercise, eat right, watch your weight, stop smoking, limit alcohol consumption and your heart will love you for it allowing you to enjoy many more Valentine's days with your loved ones.
Do it for yourself and your loved ones. Do it together, walk with a friend, diet with the family and help each other. Not only will you live longer and healthier but you can help save money for both you and Uncle Sam. Over $300 billion are spent by the US Government on heart disease each and every year.
Join local businesses in Trumbull, Fairfield and Bridgeport like SYNERGY HomeCare, Bridgeport Hospital, St Vincent's Hospital and the Connecticut Department of Public Health in celebrating American Heart Month. Work together, especially with seniors and the elderly to help each other live a heart healthy life. Enjoy!
