March is National Social Worker Month
March is National Social Worker Month. Social Work month started in 1964 to help raise awareness of social work and to help people understand how important social workers are to the communities in which they live and work. Social workers are usually classified in two types. The first type helps people deal with problems in their daily lives. The second type of social workers helps to diagnose and treat mental and behavioral disorders. In home care we get to know a lot of social workers. They help so many families when a loved one is hospitalized to make sure they are able to get the right type of assistance both in the hospital and when they come home.
Next time you or your loved one is in the hospital, stop by the social workers' office and thank them for the great job they do. You may find you are the only one to have done so that day. Unfortunately, most people are under so much stress when they need a social worker that a thank you is often forgotten.
At Synergy Homecare of North Georgia we just want to say to all of the social workers in North Georgia:
Thank you for all you do!
