Caring for a family member from afar, whether that is a different state or just across town, carries its own set of challenges. It's is one thing to worry about a loved one who is right down the hall, but when you can't see your mom or other loved one every day, an update can mean a huge difference. At Synergy HomeCare, we look at every case as a unique set of challenges. Sometimes that means the case manager needs to make weekly phone calls to a family member to discuss how their loved one is doing. At other times, family members prefer a weekly or bi-weekly email to keep them up to date. The important thing is to keep the lines of communication open so that families know the caregivers visiting and working with their mom, dad, grandparent, aunt or whomever is doing just fine.
