Jim And Gaye

Jim and Gaye Aaberg, Owners - CEO and President respectively

Jim and Gaye are passionate about the advantages of non-medical home care. Both have their own personal experiences with caring for loved ones. They believe that with their experience, SYNERGY HomeCare can provide a service that prevents challenging situations from becoming a family's burden. They want to allow you the ability to maintain a relationship with your loved separate from the challenges of providing care. 


Debi Calhoon, Director of Operations - Bloomington

Through her experience as a Principal of a primary school and serving as President of a start up company, Debi gained a passion for all things operational. She met Jim and Gaye through a mutual friend and was excited to have the opportunity to not only utilize her passion but also to work for a company that CARES. She finds great pleasure in working for a company that enables her to make a difference in the lives of those within her community on a daily basis.


Betsy Boge, Director of Client Care - Bloomington

After working for a large company for over 20 years, Betsy was presented with an exciting opportunity by Jim and Gaye to open a home care agency. She was SYNERGY HomeCare of Central Illinois's first staff member. After a couple of meetings and learning more of what SYNERGY was all about, Betsy knew that she wanted to spend the remainder of her working years doing something meaningful for the community. Betsy especially loves building relationships with referral partners, being a member of committees, and meeting with families to find solutions for their loved ones. She considers working for SYNERGY HomeCare one of the best decisions of her life. 


Nicole Terven, Operations Manager - Bloomington

Nicole started working for SYNERGY HomeCare as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was offered the opportunity to become the Client Care Supervisor in the Fall of 2013. Nicole saw this as the perfect job opportunity as her passion has always been to work with seniors. She is able to pass along her many years of CNA experience to our caregivers while also remaining invovled in the client's life. She enjoys meeting with families and making recommendations on how to modify their living space to ensure the safety of their loved ones. She's been known to go out to homes wearing a tool belt and doing the modifications herself. 


Jeff Aaberg, Compliance Officer - Bloomington

Jeff began his career with SYNERGY HomCare in the Fall of 2015. He had recently retired from his position with an insurance company. He held several leadership positions that were focused on employee compliance and retention. His goal for SYNERGY HomeCare of Central Illinois is to make sure that we have the best trained employees while remaining compliant with the State Of Illinois Department of Public Health. In addition, Jeff assists in assuring families that the Plan of Care that is created for our clients is implemented and maintained at the highest standards. 




Shelby Walter, Client Care Manager - Normal

Shelby has always had an interest in the healthcare field after assisting her grandfather during his time on Hospice. Through that experience, her family encouraged her to pursue this field and assured her that she would make a great nurse. After Shelby received her Certified Nursing Assistant certificate, she applied to work for SYNERGY HomeCare. She enjoyed being apart of the SYNERGY team simply from seeing the joy on her clients faces. Shelby was promoted to work as a part of the management team and has enjoyed the opportunity to work with all of our clients to find the care they need and deserve. Seeing how much SYNERGY offers the communicty and how thankful the clients are make this job so much more rewarding.
