Is Medicare or Medicaid funding available for these services?
Today, Medicare typically does not cover non-medical home care services. But, when a patient is eligible for Home Health Care (skilled nursing/Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy), usually after a hospital or rehabilitation center stay, services are provided by a Medicare certified Home Health Agency. There is a limit as to how much home care will be covered but it is typically minimal. Eligible Medicaid recipients may receive some coverage - the agency used must be a certified Medicaid provider. I have insurance and I'm not sure if it covers non-medical home care and/or home health care services, will SYNERGY HomeCare verify coverage prior to starting service?
Yes. SYNERGY HomeCare works with all leading Long Term Care insurance providers. With your approval, we will check your coverage and let you know the results. We also manage to the entire process of activating a claim and submitting all required forms throughout the care coverage.
Can you do short term senior care?
Yes. Our care is always determined by what you need—part of our “No Contracts, Just Care” philosophy. We will work with you to create a plan of care specific to your individual needs.
Do you offer short shift options?
Yes, we do. During our assessments we review your unique needs and all the options for providing care. We also have some pre-defined service packages to address common need areas such as sunrise, sundown, night-out, out-of-town and appointment services – more info here
Can you care for someone in a facility (hospital, nursing home, or assisted living)?
Yes. We provide services to you wherever home is at the time.
What if a family member needs to be put in a care facility while receiving SYNERGY HomeCare’s services?
We transition with you. We work with you and the facility to continue providing the services you need.
Do I have to sign a contract locking me into services?
No. SYNERGY HomeCare is here to meet your needs, and as your needs change, so will the services you receive. Our service agreement reflects this and flexes to meet your changing needs.
How often do I get billed for services?
Billing is performed on a weekly basis.
Is there any additional cost to me?
No. Every agreement is clear and transparent; there are no hidden fees. The most typical additional cost you may incur is mileage when you ask your caregiver to run errands in his/her personal vehicle which results in a nominal per mile fee which the federal government sets. We also provide medical equipment and health maintenance items procurement as an added value, we do this at cost with no mark-up.
What is the cost for service?
Costs are determined by the unique needs of our clients. The two most important factors in determining care cost are skill requirements and length/number of shifts. Most fees in this industry are fairly similar if comparing to a quality care organization, but we employ creativity to keep costs down and home care affordable. If you discover a competitor’s fees are lower, it is most likely because they are skipping important steps that would leave you vulnerable.
What if I need to speak to someone in the office after business hours?
SYNERGY HomeCare's office staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. When the office is closed, there is always an on-call person available to help you.
Why would I hire a SYNERGY HomeCare caregiver versus a private caregiver for my family?
If you hire privately, you become the employer of the caregiver. The following are just a few of the things you must take into consideration when hiring privately.

What should I be looking for in a non-medical home care agency?
How long will it take to get a caregiver?
Based on your needs and requests, we can provide a caregiver immediately or at your convenience.
Can I help choose the caregiver and/or meet them in advance?
Yes. And, if at any time or for any reason you want to change caregivers, we will do so at no charge until you are completely satisfied.
What happens if a caregiver is unable to show up for a scheduled shift?
That's why we employ the CARE Team approach. If your family’s caregiver is unavailable for any reason, another is made available immediately.
How do you select my caregiver?
All of our caregivers have successfully passed a thorough reference and national criminal background check, and are fully insured. We have a detailed file on every caregiver so we can match your specific needs and requests to the skills and background of each caregiver, to find the ideal companion. We also take personalities into consideration as many times this is a key component to successful care at home.
