Have you noticed blue hanging handicap parking cards hanging from the rear view mirrors of Michigan vehicles and wondered how to go about getting one for yourself?
We have the answers....
According to the State of Michigan website, permanent disability parking cards are granted to individuals with a disability that is not expected to improve. The cards are for individuals who have a disability defined as, "blindness or any condition that significantly limits the person's ability to walk or that requires a wheelchair, walker, crutch or other assistive device."
To qualify, the applicant must have a physician, chiropractor, optometrist, physician's assistant or nurse practition complete the placard application. A permanent placard can be obtained by submitting the completed application at any Michigan Secretary of State office.
