As the owner of SYNERGY Home Care of Rochester I like to provide information to the public that may be of benefit. One of my clients informed me that she and her husband regularly attended a monthly Parkinson’s Disease Support Group breakfast. They meet every 3rd Monday of the month at 9:30 AM at the Big Boy Restaurant located at 90 E Tienken Rd, Rochester Hills, MI 48306. The attendance varies but 20 people is quite common. It’s a very informal setting were people with Parkinson’s Disease and their caregivers can develop friendships and talk about their common problems.
The group got its start about seven years ago when Crittenton Hospital initiated a Parkinson’s Disease Support Group. The group meets every 1st Wednesday of the month 7 PM to 9PM at the hospital 1101 W. University Drive Rochester Hill, MI 46307. The purpose of the meetings are for people with Parkinson’s disease and their family caregivers to learn more about the disease and how best to manage it.
