5 Signs You’re Experiencing Caregiver Burnout

Caregivers are at risk for something called caregiver burnout. It’s a problem caused by the physical and emotional stress of caring for someone else.   2. Appetite and Weight Changes: You may either gain weight or lose weight because of caregiver burnout. It may make you engage in emotional eating or make you not want to eat at all.
  3. Getting Sick Often: Caregivers often catch every cold or flu that comes along because they are worn down.
  4. Irritability and Other Negative Moods: You might find yourself snapping at people, including the senior you’re caring for, for almost no reason. Or, perhaps you feel hopeless, overwhelmed, and sad.
