We never hire independent contractors and our home health aides are all paid according to the state and federal tax regulations and covered in accordance with all workman's compensation laws so that the client and their family has nothing to worry about. This is not the case with many other "agencies" who erroneously apply "1099 status" to their caregivers and operate under a staffing agency model that leaves the client's family liable for substantial risks related to payroll taxes, social security withholdings, unemployment laws, workers compensation, scheduling coordination, overtime laws, and caregiver supervision. Jennifer Portadin, Co-Managing Partner: Jen has worked in the healthcare sector for the past fifteen-plus years and also owns and operates a highly successful medical search & recruitment firm, she knows how to find the best caregivers and how to oversee daily operations with efficiency and integrity.
Jason Portadin, Co-Managing Partner: Jay is a retired NYPD police officer who has also worked in healthcare recruitment and founded a local smoking cessation center. He handles our agency's business operations and oversees quality control for both the Bordentown and Colts Neck offices.
Mary Portadin, Administrator: Mary is very dedicated to the wellness of others, having served as a medical center board member and an administrator at a local recreational and athletic complex.
Jaymee Jonos, Supervising RN & Marketing Coordinator: Jaymee joined our team as the Supervising Registered Nurse in August of 2017. Prior to entering the in-home care setting, Jaymee spent years working as a nurse at in-patient settings that included Trauma/General Surgery Nursing and Emergency Room Nursing. Her experiences in the ER provide her with a unique point of view when it comes to the importance that quality in-home care plays in preventing hospital readmissions and keeping seniors & other potentially vulnerable individuals safe at home. She oversees the Plan of Care for all of the Bordentown and Colts Neck office clients; and conducts regular quality visits to ensure that our caregivers in the field are following the Plan of Care and providing the appropriate assistance to our clientele. Jaymee also works as our Marketing Coordinator, reaching out into the community to provide education, resources, and insight to those interested in home care.
Ely Estrada, Operations Director: Ely initially joined our care TEAM as a caregiver in the field providing high quality care to our clients. She spent years as a home health aide working in both senior care facilities and for in-home care agencies. Today Ely is an integral member of our management team and she is responsible for coordinating client care for both the agency's offices.
Kristina Smith, Client Services Manager: Kristina initially worked for us as a caregiver and has extensive experience working with the elderly and dealing with complex in-home care cases. She later worked as a CNA at a well-respected New Jersey dialysis center; before rejoining Synergy HomeCare of Mid-Jersey in 2015 as a member of our management team. She deals with all issues related to our clients and their quality of service.
