On May 25, 2017, SYNERGY HomeCare, the City of Greenfield, and Hometown Hospice and Home Care honored veterans at a special ceremony and ice cream social. Veterans attending the event were individually recognized and presented with certificates of appreciation and pins.
Thanks to the creativity and generosity of Joyce Weinert and the WE Energies Quilt Guild, two beautiful quilts were raffled off. SYNERGY HomeCare and Hometown Hospice and Home Care added to what the raffle raised to bring the total donated to Fisher House Wisconsin to $500.

“We know ongoing education and training not only improve the quality of care we provide our clients,” according to Ruth Busalacchi, owner, SYNERGY HomeCare, “they contribute to the success of our caregivers and their job satisfaction.”
Our caregivers are not required by law to be CNA certified. Approximately 60% of SYNERGY HomeCare's caregivers are CNA certified. Caregivers who are not certified and who have been employed with SYNERGY HomeCare for at least a year are now eligible to apply for a tuition grant to attend CNA training. Applicants are required to write an essay including why they are applying for the grant, how they will use the knowledge they gain, and why they should be awarded the grant. The grant recipient will, among other things, be expected to continue employment for at least two years. The grant recipient will be announced in August.
“It’s OK to hang up”, was Bob’s response when asked what he learned after SYNERGY HomeCare presented a senior scams program at his independent living community in Greenfield, WI. That is a popular response from seniors at other communities and senior centers where the program has been offered.
Seniors don’t want to be rude and they fear the repercussions of hanging up. That’s what scammers count on. The longer they can keep you on the phone, the greater the likelihood is they’ll get you to share personal and financial information.

“I can’t wait to share this information with my friends,” said Lorrie after a presentation at her senior center. “They need to know about the Grandparent’s Scam and that they shouldn’t open suspicious emails with links and attachments.”
