Foods That Can Lead to a Longer Life

There are a number of superfoods out there for your loved one to eat in order to help them live a longer, healthier life.

Coffee

According to AARP, coffee is full of antioxidants that protect against cell damage and also lower the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

Fruits & Vegetables

The most well-known foods for a healthier life are broccoli, grapes and salad. Although most already know this, not all include these items in their diets. The compounds found in these three foods have life-extending benefits, Health Magazine reported.

Similar to leafy greens, berries are also loaded with antioxidants. According to Health Magazine, these will boost your loved one’s immunity and help to prevent life-threatening diseases.

Thyme

Thyme may not be the most recognized, but it has the ability to fight bacteria. According to AARP, new research also said clove, rose, eucalyptus, fennel and bergamot may also fight off bacteria.

Salmon

Omega-3 fatty acids, like those found in wild salmon, will help your loved one fight against premature aging. This fatty acid will preserve the DNA on the ends of cells, also known as telomeres, AARP stated. Studies have shown that shorter telomeres are linked to early aging and in some cases premature death.
